Press Release - Arts Fresco Festival Back in 2020
ARTS FRESCO RETURNS TO MARKET HARBOROUGH IN SEPTEMBER
One of the UK’s largest free street theatre festivals to take place on Sunday 15 September 2020 throughout the town centre
There’s open air entertainment for all ages when Arts Fresco, one of the largest, free street theatre festivals in the UK, returns to Market Harborough on Sunday 15 September 2020.
This year’s event, taking place in the streets of the town from 11am to 4pm, will feature some intriguing, exciting, fun and interactive performances from professional UK and international street artists.
Artists to appear at Arts Fresco 2020 include:
The Bubble Wizard who will take on the town, placing spectators in bubbles and making ingenious bubble hats for passers by
Gran Turismo will race up and down the High Street on top of their motorised scooters, encouraging spectators to join in with their spectacular routines.
Seven-piece outfit, King Brasstards, will be taking their New Orleans-inspired versions of well-known songs around the town, stopping off along the way to get the crowd dancing
A children’s village, supported by the Market Harborough Building Society, will feature circus workshops, entertainment and more.
For visitors to this year's event, there's a chance to win a great prize in the Arts Fresco photo competition. The prize for the over 18 years of age winner is a ‘Gin Workshop’ experience for two, generously donated by Two Birds distillery in Market Harborough. The under 18 winner will get an amazing family ticket for the National Space Centre in Leicester. To enter the competition, take up to three photographs from the incredible sights at this year’s event and send to Arts Fresco at email@example.com. Full details of the competition and how to submit your photos can be found at www.artsfresco.co.uk/photo-competition
New for this year is a dedicated Arts Fresco app to help you to find your way around the programme of performances. The app will be available for Apple and Android phones from 6 September 2020, and was developed by Market Harborough-based software and app development company, Infonote Datasystems.
Nina Thomas from the Arts Fresco Organising Committee said: “After a hiatus of one year when we took a break in 2018, we’re back with a bang next month with some amazing street artists that will be putting on out-of-this-world performances throughout the town centre. Come along and see what the fuss is all about!”
