Having previously announced that the annual Arts Fresco street theatre festival in Market Harborough will be taking a hiatus in 2026, the festival committee is holding a special public meeting on 13 October 2026 to recruit new committee members who can support the future development of the festival.

The meeting will be held from 7.30-9pm on Tuesday 13 October 2026 in The Lounge at Market Harborough Theatre (Church Square, Market Harborough LE16 7NB). The event is open to the public and no booking is necessary. 

​

The annual, one-day Arts Fresco festival first ran in 2002. In September 2025, a successful and well-attended Arts Fresco event showcased some of the best street theatre performers in the UK and Europe. 
 
Neil Kitson, Chair of the organising committee of Arts Fresco commented: “Arts Fresco is run by a dedicated core team of volunteers, all of whom give their time freely and have been supporting the festival for several years now. Resource is becoming a critical issue to support the festival going forward, so we’re holding this public event to potentially recruit new committee members who could eventually take over the running of Arts Fresco.

“So, if you’ve loved Arts Fresco as a visitor, resident, performer or supporter in the past, we’d love for you to come and join us at the public meeting where we’ll be talking about how to effectively develop the festival and secure its future.”
