Help bring street theatre back to the streets

Be part of the biggest street theatre festival in Leicestershire, Arts Fresco Street Theatre festival, winner of the Pride of Harborough Award 2015 for raising the profile of the town.

Arts Fresco is a unique, locally distinct street theatre festival, sometimes described as “mini Fringe”. For one day in September, Arts Fresco transforms Market Harborough town centre into an open air theatrical stage where roaming giant beasts mingle amongst moving wheelie bins, breath-taking acrobatic performances, flash-mob dancing and moving theatrical performances. A Children’s Village in the Memorial Garden provides free face painting, circus and music workshops and more to our youngsters.

WHAT OUR SPONSORS SAY

Cllr James Hallam, Harborough District Council’s portfolio holder for community well-being said:
“We are really pleased to be supporting such a popular event which attracts so many people from outside the district. It’s a family-friendly occasion with some of the best street performers around. I hope to see the town packed on Sunday and the local shops making the most of it too.”

Peter Knott, Area Director, Arts Council England, said:
“It’s great to see so many local businesses supporting art and culture in Market Harborough, and I’m delighted that the Arts Council is also able to invest in this year’s Arts Fresco through our National Lottery-funded Grants for the arts programme. The line-up for this year’s event promises something for everyone, from circus to arts and crafts, to theatre and music – it looks like it is going to be great fun.”

Mark Robinson, Market Harborough Building Society, said: ‘Arts Fresco in Harborough is a terrific combination; spectacle, fun and great settings in the town’s spaces. The Building Society is very pleased to help bring this much loved family event back to Harborough’.
